Meet The Founder

David Lassiter, CEO of Lassiter Financial Group, is a dynamic entrepreneur, adept businessman, and dedicated community activist. Originally from South Jersey, he relocated to Delaware, attending Christiana High School before earning two associate degrees in accounting and business from Delaware Tech. His educational journey continued with a bachelor's degree in accounting from Goldey Beacom College, where he consistently maintained an impressive GPA of 3.70 or higher.

Throughout his academic career, David garnered recognition, earning accolades such as the Top Accounting Graduate award in 2015. He was twice featured as a highlighted graduate by Delaware Online News Journal. Transitioning into education in 2017, David has worked with diverse student populations, serving as a professor at Delaware Technical Community College. His teaching portfolio spans subjects like math, first-year studies, health and wellness, and life skills. Additionally, he contributed as a high school math teacher at Parkway Academy North and as a substitute in various charter schools.

Beyond curriculum instruction, David leverages his experiences, knowledge, and abilities to educate students on social, cultural, health, and spiritual issues affecting our communities. As the CEO of the “Lassiter Foundation”, a non-profit based in Wilmington, Delaware, he spearheads initiatives focused on volunteering and positive community impact. The foundation engages in activities such as clothing and food drives, homeless outreach, "stop the violence" campaigns, and financial literacy classes. The foundation's core values revolve around community engagement, health and wellness, and education.

Notably, they have established urban gardens across the city, including “The City Garden”, at William "Hicks" Anderson Community Center, and in the past have provided free math tutoring for grade school students at the “PAL” (Police Athletic League) of Wilmington. “The City Garden”, emphasizes the importance of growing one's own food and adopting a holistic lifestyle. As a vegan businessman, David prioritizes spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, social, cultural, environmental, and financial wellness in his daily interactions and overall lifestyle.
